A mother is behind bars for allegedly putting her two-year-old daughter in the oven.
Tasha Hatcher, 35, from Glen Rose, Texas, was arrested on Thursday after the toddler was left with third degree burns following the bizarre act.
Cops arrived at her family home after witnesses said she put the child inside the oven.
The youngster is still in hospital, according to Fox 4. She is sedated but is believed to be in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for Child Protective Services confirms the agency has taken custody of the girl.
The girl’s uncle says he and other relatives are not allowed to have any contact with the girl during the investigation.
According to Hatcher’s Facebook, the single mother currently works at Quality Inn and Suites and StoneWater Church in Glen Rose.
Hatcher was charged with Injury to a child with serious bodily injury – a first-degree felony – and arraigned Saturday.
She is being held on a $300,000 bond.
