The duo of Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia and ex-Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu have been lined up as possible replacement for Sunday Oliseh.
This comes hours after the ex-midfielder announced his resignation as coach of the Super Eagles on Twitter.
A committee led by Rivers state FA chairman Chris Green will meet today, February 26, and one of their deliberations would be to recommend temporary successors to Oliseh, Africanfootball.com reports.
While Amodu who is currently the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director has severally handled the Eagles, qualifying Nigeria to the 2002 and 2014 World Cups, Siasia can only boast of a short stint as Eagles coach between 2010 and 2011.
He was fired after he failed to qualify the country to the 2012 AFCON in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
