A 46-year-old mother who posed naked for a 14-year-old boy after having sex with him up against a bath was today cleared of abusing him.
Amanda Lockhart fled the dock in tears and sobbed ‘thank you’ as the jury acquitted her of all charges.
The teenager had claimed Lockhart, who has a son older than the boy, had forced him to have sex with her on three different occasions and threatened to ‘beat him up’ if he did not.
But although Lockhart admitted having sex with the boy, she told the jury that he had shown her a passport suggesting he was 17.
He then jumped on her and squeezed her so hard that she ‘yelped’, the court was told.
Following nearly six hours of deliberation, the jury of eight men and four women rejected the boy’s version of events.
Lockhart, from New Addington, Croydon, who is 5ft tall, was cleared of five charges of engaging in sexual activity in a child.
The Old Bailey heard how Lockhart was known to the boy. In January last year, they began kissing in the kitchen of the boy’s home.
Lockhart had told him to stop, insisting he was ‘just a boy’. But he went upstairs and got his passport, on which his date of birth appeared to be June 1996 – making him 17.
The court heard how he then insisted she go upstairs, where they had sex against the bath.
She told the court: ‘He grabbed me. He started shoving his hands down my top. With one hand he already taken my bra off. He started squeezing me so hard I yelped.’
She added that, while they were naked in the bathroom, he took three pictures of her.
‘If he was underage and I knew that, it was hardly likely I was going to give him photos. It would be a bit mental,’ she said.
