Think of what you can do for your country not what your country can do for you performance by the Dream team against Japan was so Kenedicious. As I watched Oghenekaro Etebo scoring four goals, my medulla reminded me of the great Yekini of blessed memory, the Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha, etc. Who has sacrifice a lot in one way or the other to put smiles on the faces of thousands of Nigerian.
I paused to feel the heart beat of some Nigerian when Japan equalize the first and second goal and the cheers and smiles when the final whittle was blown.
I tried to imagine what our leaders where thinking when they refuse to release funds to the athletes for training and all the shoddy jobs done during the preparation for the games, even the transportation saga of the dream team contingent to the Olympics made me to ask myself some seriously questions … Did our leaders watch the match?
Did they smile too?
The truth is not far fetch our Dear President is very proud of the team,I can spot it from here as I staggered to write this article, and before I slept early yesterday morning after the match, I prayed ‘though not to an hour’ that God should help the Dream team to give our dear President the opportunity to be in the finals of the Rio Olympics.
Strange as it may sound, at a time like now when naira is falling, when rice is now 700 Nigerian money per Kongo in Oyo state, when Kerosene is not a thing for the poor, Our dear president need to do something to remedy the situation, even if it means going to the Olympics.
Nigeria I hail thee, as the Dream team and the entire contingent strive to make us proud despite poor preparation, I join millions of Nigerians to wish them a happy and a successful stay in Brazil.
