A Colonel, Samaila Inusa, who was abducted last Sunday, has been found dead.
The Army, in a statement yesterday, said Colonel Inusa’s body was found in Kaduna.
He is suspected to have been killed by his abductors the day he was kidnapped.
The military authorities had offered N1 million for any information leading to his whereabouts.
A statement yesterday by Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, said: “Preliminary investigation showed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors.
The body was found decomposing around Ajyaita village, off Eastern Bypass, Kaduna in Kaduna State.”
It added:“Arrangements are in progress to move the body to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna. May His soul rest in peace, Amen.
“We wish to state in unmistakable terms that whoever is behind his abduction and murder will be fished out to face the law.”
The late colonel was abducted and whisked away in his Mercedes Benz car by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers around Kamazo, on Kaduna Refinery Road, in Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State.
The abductors dropped off the colonel’s wife and left with him heading towards Abuja.
