Umana Umana Begs Udom For Contracts To Recover Campaign Fund…

As the Supreme Court judgement is being expected on Wednesday, the APC governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State during the last election, Umana Okon Umana has contemplated reaching out to Governor Udom Emmanuel for contracts to help him recover the money he spent for the elections and on the legal tussles.

A close associate of Umana spoke with Akwa Ibom leading blogger, Abel Abel on condition of anonymity revealed this. According to him, Umana has consulted one of his most trusted friends to help him broker the peace deal.

Umana was reported to have collapsed after the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed Nyesom Wike as the governor of Rivers State. The source told Abel Abel that outside the Supreme Court decision on the Rivers election, Umana was hoping to capitalize on sentiments and get the support of the Ibibios on his side but the rising popularity of the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke who is in Udom’s camp is said to have caused him sleepless nights. Umana considers Onofiok a big obstacle to his ambition if there is a re-run as he will drive the Ibibio’s vote to Udom.

The Source however said that some close associates of Umana have counselled him against the decision to reach out to Udom as that will damage his reputation and bring dent on his political value.

His Associates also told him that Udom Emmanuel will likely reject his last minute offer as he considers himself a transparent leader.

Umana who is said to have spent over N10 billion on the elections and litigation is said be weighing his options before Wednesday ruling by the Supreme Court.
