Nigeria’s Emenike Rejects Chinese Deal To Become Highest Paid African Footballer Worth $8 Million A Year

It has been revealed that Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike turned down a bumper offer from China that would have made the best paid African player.

The 28-year-old Emenike is now on loan to English Premier League side West Ham from Turkish club Fenerbache.

But he could also have taken up an offer in China, which would have made him the best paid African player.

“The deal in China would have fetched him up to $8 million a year, all tax-free,” said a source close to the player. But he preferred to move on loan to the EPL instead.”

Another source hinted the striker could still head to China in June.

“He could still move to China in the summer. It all depends on how things go in England,” said the source.
