NFF President Amaju Pinnick, Chris Giwa ‘Fights’ At A Peace Meeting Summoned By Sport Minister

A peace meeting called by the Sport Minister, Barr. Solomon Dalung to end the administrative crisis rocking the Nigerian football ended in a deadlock after the two men involved almost exchange blows.

The President of the Nigerian Football Federation Amaju Pinnick and a renowned sport administrator, Chris Giwa had been in constant battle ovr who is the president of the football body. The issue had almost got Nigera banned by FIFA. Giwa is claiming to have won an earlier election while Pinnick who won a rescheduled election is recognised by FIFA.

The sport minister who is said to be a friend of Chris Giwa initiated the peace move to bring peace to Nigerian football according to him.

But after the meeting almost ended in a fight, the minister said he won’t give up on his peace initiative;

“I have the will power and the political power to resolve the issue and I am optimistic that this issue will be resolved. We have decided to hear from them because this is a democracy, if we were in a military dictatorship I may have just decreed and asked one party to step down.”
