Fourteen-year-old model and aspiring singer Molly O’Malia recently made allegations involving the California rapper.
According to O’Malia, Tyga initially contacted her on Instagram via a direct message. The young artist proceeded to engage in conversation with Tyga in hopes of advancing her career, when things took a turn for the left.
During a press conference with lawyer Gloria Allred by her side, O’Malia tearfully told reporters, “The truth is that Tyga contacted me first. He direct messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was but I was surprised that he was contacting me.”
She went on to add, “I thought that it could possibly be about my music, but he did not mention that in his initial communication with me. I thought that was strange, but I was thinking he would bring that up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention it in the next message.”
“I began to feel uncomfortable when he asked me to FaceTime with him,” she continued. “He asked me to FaceTime 3 times, but I did not do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me I quickly stopped responding to him. It’s crazy how so much can come out of nothing.”
The scandal involving Tyga gained traction after a tabloid posted a story linking the rapper to the underage model and accusing the two of having a sexual relationship.
Allred, who is also the lawyer defending Bill Cosby’s alleged rape victims, and O’Malia’s mother both made statements in regards to the scandal.
Anne, the girl’s mother, bashed OK! Magazine for, “falsely [insinuating] that there was an inappropriate sexually suggestive relationship going on between Tyga and Molly.”
She claims Tyga contacted her daughter “a few weeks ago,” which sources speculate may be in line with his short-lived breakup from Kylie Jenner.
But A rep for Tyga says the rapper only reached out to Molly O’Malia because he was interested in her music. Tyga also contests that the messages were strictly professional and PG.
