Breaking News: Court Of Appeal Nullifies Akwa Ibom Governorship Election, Orders Fresh Election Within 90 Days

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has nullified the Akwa Ibom state governorship election held on April 11 that resulted in Udom Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party being sworn-in as Governor

The Court overruled the decision of the Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election Tribunal which had ordered for a re-run in 18 local government area of the state.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Adefunke Okojie, ordered that a fresh governorship election should be conducted in the state within 90 days.
